About Us

Stuart Imrie, Founder

Lake Tapps Rhododendron Garden & Nursery has been operating since 1985. Stuart Imrie began the nursery with one rhododendron, "Cynthia", and great passion. Now there are thousands of plants in the inventory, from homegrown cuttings to 25-gallon plants. What started as a yard with one rhododendron has blossomed into 3 acres of species and hybrid rhododendrons, azaleas, trees, shrubs and other garden plants.

While sadly Stuart passed away on February 27, 2014, the tradition of great customer service and superior quality rhodies has been continued by Stuart’s son Neil Imrie and Neil's wife, Sherry.

We welcome you to come by and tour the garden, especially in the spring when the plants are at their best. Our plants bloom from late January through the end of summer with most at their best in April, May and June.
