Famous Gardens and Online Garden Tours

  • Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, England

  • Butchart Gardens, Victoria, Canada

  • Sisley Garden Tours ~ You can take a virtual tour here or plan a real one.  This website has many photographs, as well as information about gardens and historical plantsmen.   The online bookstore carries British gardening books not available in the United States.

  • Brightwater Holidays ~ There are few photographs here, but the written description of 29 United Kingdoms tours are so sumptuous and colorful you'll never notice.   Brightwater also lists 13 overseas tours, including a fall tour of the US eastern seaboard and tours to Europe or Africa.

  • Coppersmith's England ~ Although the web pages are sedate and restrained, they promise on-of-a-kind tours.  Penelope Hobhouse says this is one of the two best garden tours in England.

  • Info Hub - Specialty Travel Guide ~ This site offers an alphabetical list of tours from Amusement Parks to Yoga & Spiritual Journeys.  When you click on Garden Tours, you'll find tours to Britain, Europe, India, China, Jamaica and Brazil.  The sheer number of different types of tours and the detailed itineraries compensate for the lack of photos.

  • Taga Safaris ~ Once the pages download, you'll feel like you're in southern Africa.  Check out the intriguing photos of Cape Town & Garden Route Tours.

  • The Virtual Garden Tour ~ This excellent site will take you on a visual tour of gardens in the United States, Britain, Australia and Japan.  Abundant photos, information and links to other sites.  If you're interested in Japanese gardens, one of the sites offers valuable information.  Taking the virtual Garden Tour will keep you touring all summer long.

  • Down the Garden Path ~ Links to virtual tours of botanic gardens, greenhouses and private gardens around the world.

  • Monet's Garden at Giverny~ What more can be said?  It's Monet.  It's his garden.  And it has been faithfully restored and looks much the same as when he painted in it.  Aerial view gives a great sense of the garden's size.
